Makeovers seem to be our thing these days, and I have to say… I’m not mad about it! I absolutely adore taking a beat up, neglected antiques and bringing them back to life! We scored this sad looking wardrobe from a local yard sale. The original idea for the piece was to paint it white, of course! Little did we know, this wood was mahogany and it bleeds through pink. This was our first encounter with mahogany. We used primer and added multiple coats, but still got the bleeding through.
Classic Touches
One of my favorite ways to add character to any room is fresh flowers! You can seriously never go wrong! My style is to decorate mostly with neutrals so adding pops of color naturally just brings my space alive!
I have a love for all flowers! They’re each so beautiful in their own way. My favorite to use around this time of the year are tulips! Tulips are dainty and delicate, but so beautiful! I love photographing and admiring them when I first put them into water because they’re drooped over somewhat lifeless, but it’s really an alluring trait about them!
You don’t have to have a special touch to create a classic arrangement. I honestly just love going to the supermarket and gathering a bunch of flowers of similar color. Some classic flowers go better together than others, but mixing it up makes it fun and fresh! Pictured, I mixed tulips, blush roses and babies breath. Not your typical combination, but I’m loving it!
And if you’re looking for a sweet printable to add to your decor for Valentine’s Day, you’re in luck! I’m sharing this free “bee mine” printable! See instructions below to download! It’s so simple, but so lovely!

“Vintage” Christmas Car
I have a major addiction to checking the clearance isle every-single-time I’m at Marshalls. I consider this pretty exciting, ask my husband and he probably won’t agree (wink!). The last time I checked, I spotted this adorable vintage-looking car! Better yet, it only had a $7 price tag, score!
Although the copper and black appearance is appealing, it wouldn’t match with my Christmas decor enough. So I’m sure you know what I did… I painted it white! Not all of it, just the majority of the exterior. I kept the tires and inside the original finish. I used clay/chalk paint so it dried quick and I could move right on to the next step! I grabbed a bottle brush tree I snagged from the dollar store last year and simply anchored it in place using some red and white bakers twine. It’s that simple! I turned this aged car into the perfect “vintage” car to go along with my Christmas decor! Isn’t it just darling?

Cozy Fall Vignette
One of my favorite things about Fall is being cozy! Who doesn’t love to snuggle up with a warm blanket and a good book on a chilly night after a long day? That is exactly what inspired this simple vignette!
A few weeks back while shopping at one of my favorite little vintage shops in a local town, I found this old organ bench and snagged it real quick! It will go upstairs in my office eventually, as for now, it’s looking beautiful in my little cozy corner! I love using benches as part of my decor because the length allows you to add additional decor (props), plus the space below allows for decor also. It perfectly fits this round basket for pillows and throws!
I just love it! The colors and beauty of fall in such a simple display! So I’m curious, do you create seasonal vignettes? I think it’s a great way to add character to your home and have fun with some of your favorite decor pieces! Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you back soon!

Autumn on the Porch
I love decorating my front porch to go with the seasons. Not only that, but I love pulling up to the house and seeing it in all of it’s glory! I was so eager to begin decorating for Fall this year, so I wasted no time!
I had bought a floral wall pocket from Hobby Lobby. I knew immediately that I was going to spray paint it white since my front door was black. So, I did just that.. I spray painted it a flat white, giving it a good two coats. Once it was dry, I grabbed a low grit sand paper and began to rough it up throughout the piece. This gave it some depth and would likely blend in with the natural weathering it will get being on my porch. I had also bought some decorative wheat and potpourri arrangement at Marshall’s. I combined the two arrangements and made it my own! It smells heavenly, and I’m hoping that scent will last a little while even though it’s outside. I made a simple burlap bow using some burlap ribbon I already had and hot glued a clip onto the back. I love putting clips on my bows because I can easily remove them if needed, or move them to another spot of the arrangement if I want.
I’m pretty happy with how this piece turned out! It’s full, screams Fall and looks great on my door! So what do you think of it?

Fab Pins of the Week!
Hello gorgeous! It’s Friday, whoop whoop! Do you have any exciting plans for this weekend? I’m hoping to cross of at least a couple of current projects off my list! I tend to get myself into numerous projects at once, and then I get frustrated when I have to finish them all. Do you ever do this?
I’m in full swing of gathering inspiration for my home office, which I will begin to design late Summer/early Fall. I am still having a hard time as to finding exactly what I want! I tend to take my decorating slow, so once I start to get some major pieces in there, I think things will start to fall into place! Meanwhile, here’s what’s been inspiring me this week!

Fab Pins of the Week
Woot woot it’s Friday!!
I am so happy the weekend is here! I’m looking forward to spending it with my husband and kids!
Do you have any special plans?
This week I’ve been inspired by color!
1. I love the classy look of this decor! The mix of patterns and pops of fun color! It’s fun to take a plain room, which is a blank slate and create so much character with colors and patterns. Adding abstract art can also make a variety of colors work together!
2. I really love the idea of using knobs at different heights on a wall to use jewelry hangers, how neat! This would be a bold look for over a dresser like picture above, but I would more than likely opt for a space in my closet instead! Regardless, it’s the perfect way to organize your jewelry, display it and keep it out of the way!
3. Flowers, ah be still my heart! I just adore fresh flowers! Give gorgeous blooms the spotlight by showcasing them in vintage vases or teacups. Head to the thrift store to seek some cute little teacups or if you’re lucky enough to have some on hand, bust them out and bring them back to life!
4. Cute art! Bring your walls to life by adding colorful patterns to frames. For a super affordable way to spruce up existing frames, head to the scrapbook isle of your local craft store and pick out a few prints that really stick out to you. Cut them to size and voila. New art for literally cents!
