Friday Favorites #26
Hi there friends and happy Friday! This weekend we will be channeling our early twenties selves and living without a care in the world, enjoying ourselves at Country Jam. Country Jam is a local massive country concert and we’re headed off with our camper for the next couple days to immerse ourselves in everything country music! Do you have anything exciting planned for the weekend? Oh, this is also a kid-free weekend, so no judging 😉
Since it’s Friday, you know that means Friday Favorites! Last week, I may have shocked you by sharing some Fall inspiration. I hope that’s not the case, but I decided to tone it down a little this week. I don’t want to completely overwhelm you, haha!

Spook-tacular Neutral Halloween Mantel
When it comes to decorating for Halloween, you’ve heard me say before, I opt for less spooky options. And that’s just a personal preference! I’m not really into the terrifying, gory decor. Today I’m sharing with you my spook-tacular neutral Halloween mantel, and this is about as spooky as it gets, haha.
As always, I have incorporated some of my favorite elements, such as, mercury glass, eucalyptus and candle light!
Pumpkins on the porch!
Hello lovely! How are you today? I’m hoping that as you read this post, it finds you well and looking forward to a beautiful day! Things have been busy around here, to say the least! Instead of complaining about it, I tend to find the best in every situation! I’m very blessed for being as busy as I am and also continue to enjoy every minute of the chaos!
With that said, I’ve been slightly behind on decorating the house for Halloween. As mentioned in the past, I don’t go overboard, or the spooky route when it comes to decorating for Halloween. I try to keep it subtle and tasteful! Today I have the pleasure of sharing ‘pumpkins on the porch‘ with you! It’s my first take at a soft front porch decorated for early October!

Fab Pins of the Week #140
Hello and welcome! I hope that you get cozy and stay awhile 😉 I’m glad it’s finally the weekend! Our community will have trick-or-treat tomorrow night and the kids are just itching for it! I hope that if you have little ones going out, that they have a great, safe time!
If you follow me on Facebook, you know that I mentioned the other day that we will not be hosting Thanksgiving this year, so my Christmas decor will be going up very soon! Is that crazy? It might be, but I’m pretty stinkin’ excited about it!
DIY Trick OR Treat Flag
Can you believe trick or treat is just in a few days? My little ones are pretty excited about it, and since I’ve decorated some for the Halloween this year, I wanted to make a little garden flag to match the decor. I asked you all if you were interested in the little “Hello Fall” garden flag I shared on my front porch design, so here it is! The same technique I used…
While at one of my shopping trips to Target dollar spot, I spotted a burlap table runner for $3. I snagged it, because how could you pass that up 😉 Once I was home I knew it was the perfect material for a garden flag. The width was right and the edges are sewn, so no fraying!! To begin, simply fold over about two inches of burlap, creating a loop for hanging. Using a hot glue gun, add glue dots the entire length, and push into place. Garden flags tend to be about 18 inches in length, so you can measure or eye it, but cut any excess burlap off. Next, using your desired stencils, grab a foam brush and black chalk paint. (This paint weathers so well outside, I’m impressed!). You may also want to grab an old magazine or newspaper to place under your burlap while you stencil, so it doesn’t get messy! Dab a very light about of paint onto your stencil using your foam brush. You don’t want to create any running, and you can always add more if needed! Continue this for the remaining letters. For this flag I used “trick or treat”. The chalk paint dries rather quickly, so it’s great for this project! For the bottom of your burlap, which is the part you cut, begin to pull a strand of burlap off each layer, creating a frayed bottom. I do this because I like how it looks, but you don’t have to! Now, you could really be done here, because that’s basically the entire project! Isn’t that fun and EASY!!
