Winter Chic Christmas

December 4, 2020 by Fotini Filed Under: 14 meals, 16, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 25 Days of Christmas, 27 West & Co., 4th of July, Christmas, home decor

Hey friend! I’m happy to have you here today! I’m sharing my 2020 Winter chic Christmas design with you! Grab a cup of hot cocoa, snuggle up & come get cozy with me!

It’s no surprise to you, that 2020 has been quite a year. I hope that despite all the change & chaos, you are able to enjoy the Holiday season. You may know that I shared my Thanksgiving Tree at the beginning of November, so sure enough I began to get the itch to decorate for Christmas about a week before Thanksgiving.

I wasn’t quite sure what look I was going for this year, but I knew I wanted it to be glittery, pink & chic! Like most of my past designs, I tend to use the same stems, fillers, ornaments & ribbon. That being the case, most of designs are similar. I’m ok with that because they’re still each different & unique.

  • Champagne, Glitter Farmhouse Chic Christmas Tree 2017

My best advice is grab LOTS of fillers! I tend to use less ornaments & more stems & fillers to make the tree appear full. Always work in a pattern. Start at the top & bottom & fill in between with your ornaments first. I bunch my fillers into piles on the floor. Next, start adding them in a pattern throughout the tree. I like to keep them hanging out, drooping, etc. It gives the tree so much more character that way! Finish by adding your spiraled ribbon in a pattern as well. I uses three different ribbons.

I have shared in the past how I incorporate the ribbons throughout my tree, but would you be interested in me sharing it again? It seems to be a pretty frequent question. And you won’t believe how simple it really is!

I have two cats & they have both enjoyed the warm fires daily & glow of the Christmas tree during the day. However, my gray tabby, Rocky, has began climbing the tree again. He’s so ornery! I’m just glad I was able to snag some pics before he wrecked it completely! The kitty pictured above is Tinsel. She’s the biggest sweetie & my shadow!

I so appreciate you stopping by here & hanging out with me for a bit! I’ll be sharing more soon, so I hope that you will come back! Have a wonderful day!

FREE Mrs. Meyer's Holiday Set from Grove Collaborative

It’s that time of year again. Our house is buzzing with activity, from hosting out-of-town guests, to throwing holiday parties, to wrapping gifts & decorating the mantel.

Not surprisingly, my desire to have a clean, welcoming home intensifies tenfold in this time each year!

Fortunately, it’s also the time of year when Mrs. Meyer’s holiday scents return!!! (insert happy dance🙌🏼).

Not only do they look & smell festive, they also make the task of cleaning & doing dishes a lot more enjoyable!

This year, Mrs. Meyer’s is bringing back three crowd favorites: Iowa Pine, Peppermint, & Orange Clove. I’ve been waiting all year for Iowa Pine to return, because the crisp and spicy scent fills the entire house with wonderful smells of Christmas trees.

FREE Mrs. Meyer's Holiday Set from Grove Collaborative

Right now, you can get a free Mrs. Meyer’s trio in your choice of scents, plus a free set of Grove Collaborative walnut scrubber sponges — all packed up in a limited edition red cleaning caddy for gifting (or keeping!).

New customers will get the holiday set when you place your first order of $20:

This beautiful red caddy is everything you need to organize your home for the holidays! While you could go the traditional route & use it to store your cleaning supplies, it would also make a great gift wrapping station stocked with tape, ribbons, markers, & tags. Or, wrap your silverware in napkins, secure with a napkin ring, & place them in the caddy for your holiday buffet.

Speaking of holiday buffets, there’s no shortage of dirty dishes this time of year. Fortunately, Mrs. Meyer’s dish soap is perfect for tackling tough messes. Put a drop in your roasting pan or crockpot and watch grease disappear!

Of course, no kitchen or bathroom is complete without Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap. I get tons of compliments on these scents, & the cheerful bottles are an easy way to spruce up your sink-side display.

Another holiday hosting must-have is Mrs. Meyer’s multi-surface cleaner. It’s ideal for those last-minute cleanups before guests arrive. You only need one product for countertops, walls, bathroom fixtures, & wood or tile floors. Plus, it leaves your entire home smelling like the holidays.

Since the holiday season is also flu season, I always keep the multi-surface spray on hand for wiping down faucets, doorknobs, & other surfaces that get touched all the time.

Grove Collaborative is also an essential for me during the busy holiday season! Grove hand-selects the best natural products & delivers them (carbon offset) right to your doorstep, on your schedule. They’ve got you covered for all your cleaning & organization needs as you head into the holiday season.

When you submit your first order, you’ll also be signed up for the free 60 day VIP trial. For 60 days, you’ll save even more with free shipping, free gifts, price matching, exclusive sales & customer service. That means more money left over to spend on gifts for your family (or a little treat for yourself!).

Hello friends & welcome! Things have been quiet around here, but busy around our home! If you follow us on Instagram & Facebook, you’ve likely seen a little bit of what we’ve been up to lately!

Today I wanted to give you a glimpse of our warm, chic Christmas decor so far this year! I’ve went with a very vintage, chic feel & I must say, I’m loving it so far! It’s simple, but so cozy!

In the decor world, we tend to push out holiday decor sooner than most would probably like. But, with that being said. Decorating early for Christmas truly makes me happy! I absolutely adore putting together new designs each year & enjoying them just a little bit longer than most. Everyone has their opinions about it, but decorating early has become my favorite annual tradition!

Christmas in the Formal

December 18, 2014 by Fotini Filed Under: Christmas, Christmas tablescape, formal dining room, neutral Christmas decor, tablescape

This Season I have been decorating with neutrals, natural elements and pops of red! We finally finished painting our formal dining room furniture and I just love how it looks! I will share the full reveal in another post 😉 One day while I was out and about shopping at a local hardware store, I spotted some beautiful cedar garland and snagged a 12 foot bunch!
Christmas Formal Dining Room Tour
The smell of the fresh cedar is just sensational! The perfect addition to any Holiday decor! I simply swagged it over my formal table and cut it to my desired length. I rearranged some of my mercury glass pieces, vases and votives, as well as, a few sporadic glittery mini bulbs into the design. I love using candles in my center pieces because it gives it such a romantic, intimate feel!

I added an additional swag of cedar on my buffet, as well as, a fresh boxwood wreath! The beautiful shades of green mix perfectly with the neutral tones and pops of red!

A Peek Inside Our Home // Christmas 2014

December 1, 2014 by Fotini Filed Under: Christmas, Christmas 2014, Christmas decor, Christmas tree, neutral Christmas, plaid, tartan

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, isn’t it? One of my absolute favorite times of the year to decorate! I can honestly say, that I (at least ponder) multiple times throughout the year what my Christmas design will be that year! This year I literally could-not-wait to decorate! I caved the week before my Holiday open house and went for it! I’m so happy I did! I am just in love with how it all came together!

We will begin the tour with my entry way. Very simple, neutral decor here. I can easily add some color by adding a bowl of bulbs or throw pillow!

Rejoice Banner

December 12, 2012 by Fotini Filed Under: book pages, Christmas, Christmas Banner, Christmas Craft, crafts, diy, DIY crafts, glitter, home decor, Martha Stewart 25 Comments

So, I’ve made, yet, another project using book pages. You can view my Fall banner here and Wreath here. I just adore the way they look, and they’re so pretty to look at! This, of course, is my Christmas banner!

Here’s what you’re going to need:

  • unused book
  • twine, or any other material for hanging
  • marker
  • stencil
  • craft glue, paintbrush
  • glitter, and a pan of some sort (I’ll tell you why later!)
  • double sided tape
  • pine cones for added decor
Start out by ripping out your pages and cutting to desired size. Again, I fish-tailed the bottom of my pages. I wanted to use the word “REJOICE”, so I had 7 pages. I traced my letters using red permanent marker and my stencils. Once I was finished tracing, I used a thin paint brush to brush craft glue onto my stenciled letters. Grab a cake pan (or similar) to use to catch all of your loose glitter. This makes for a much smoother cleanup! I used a very fine Martha Stewart glitter in garnet. Apply a generous amount to each letter and let sit. After a few minutes of drying, shake off any excess glitter and set aside. Do this for each remaining letter. When I was completely done with all my letters, I used a heavy hold hairspray to keep the glitter in place. Now it’s time to add your pages to your twine! Fold over the top of your page about 1 inch and tape into place. I embellished mine with one pine cone on each end by simply hot gluing onto the twine. Let everything dry completely and hang!
This banner is truly eye-catching! The glitter shines beautifully throughout the day and especially in the background of the Christmas Tree lights at night! Hope you enjoy 🙂
