Hey you! Have you started thinking about Christmas yet? If you haven’t, don’t click away just yet, you will want to pin & save this for when you’re ready! I have a super fun, simple project for you today! These cute DIY (cheap) Christmas ornaments will be the perfect addition to your tree this year!
Do you ever check out the cheap section at Michaels? Towards the back of every store they have a setup of items that cost $1.50-$3, I check it out every time! You never know what kind of goodies will be hiding in there! On this particular shopping trip, I found a bunch of ornate, vintage looking mini frames. I thought these would be darling as ornaments on my tree this year! They were only $1.50 each, so I snagged a handful. Once I was home, I used some scrap paper I had with a pretty vintage script on it. I removed the insert from the frames and traced it onto the back of my desired paper and cut it out.
Next, using my jute and hot glue gun, I cut about three inches of jute for hanging. Place a strip of hot glue on the back of the frame, loop your jute and press it into the hot glue using an old pencil (this will save your fingers from getting burnt!). Allow each to dry before hanging, and that’s it! How simple, how adorable!! You can add pictures of the kids, little mementos… and the best part is you can easily change it each year!
I just love how they decorate the tree! So, what do you think? It’s simple enough for you to try, right? These cuties would make great little gifts too!! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope you will stop back again soon 🙂
