Fab Pins of the Week!

August 8, 2014 by Fotini Filed Under: decor, fab pins of the week, home, home office, home office design, Pinterest Leave a Comment

Hello gorgeous! It’s Friday, whoop whoop! Do you have any exciting plans for this weekend? I’m hoping to cross of at least a couple of current projects off my list! I tend to get myself into numerous projects at once, and then I get frustrated when I have to finish them all. Do you ever do this?
I’m in full swing of gathering inspiration for my home office, which I will begin to design late Summer/early Fall. I am still having a hard time as to finding exactly what I want! I tend to take my decorating slow, so once I start to get some major pieces in there, I think things will start to fall into place! Meanwhile, here’s what’s been inspiring me this week!

Love Your Life ♥

August 5, 2014 by Fotini Filed Under: blessed, free printable, grateful, love your life 5 Comments

Do you ever catch yourself complaining about your current situation, realizing it’s really not even anything to complain about? Naturally, it’s something we all do. When you think about it, it’s really quite unfortunate. I don’t want to complain about my life, because I am blessed to have the life I do, just like all of you out there. My life is not extravagant, but I don’t need for anything. I have a happy, blessed marriage, two beautiful, amazing children, a wonderful, supportive family, a beautiful, safe home and many more things I could continue to name. This past week has been one unlike any other during my 26 years. I had a bad fall and severely sprained my ankle. It was quite the recovery, sitting around feeling hopeless, not able to cook dinner for my family, clean up after my kids, let the dog out… But, if I learned anything from that experience, it’s to be grateful for what you have, if you’re not happy, do something to make your situation better! Love your life ♥Enjoy this freebie printable! Right click and save to your desktop and print from there. I plan on framing this and adding it to my gallery wall in my office ♥

Fab Pins of the Week

August 1, 2014 by Fotini Filed Under: fab pins of the week, Friday, home decor, Pinterest, simple decor, simplicity, white walls Leave a Comment

Hello beautiful and Happy Friday!! Wow, has this been a long week for me! If you’re following me on Instagram you know that I had a bad fall last Sunday and badly sprained my ankle. It has been pretty miserable being forced to take it easy to allow my ankle to heal. It has, however, allowed me to get organized, plan blog posts, schedule posts, snag inspiration for projects I’ve been wanting to do and a little more 😉
This week I’ve been quite inspired by simplicity! Simplicity that comes with white walls! Weird right? Some people crave color, and I totally get that, but this week I’ve been intrigued by the simple beauty of white.

Our Summer Picnic with Wet-Nap In Hand!

July 28, 2014 by Fotini Filed Under: ad, family adventure, picnic essentials, PMedia, Wet-Nap, Wet-Nap hand wipes

“This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Wet-Nap but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #showusyourmess  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV”
It’s hard to believe that Summer break is almost over, and this time next month the kids will be back in school. With that in mind, I wanted to plan a fun afternoon as a family! When my husband was younger, and even when we first started dating over a decade ago, we enjoyed time at a local “mountain” called Rising Park! It’s a fun little hike up the mountain and lots to see along the way. Once at the top, it over looks the heart of Lancaster.

After the hike was over, I planned a delicious picnic for us at the park below. The kids were really anxious to quench their thirst and fill their bellies! We got our spot all set up and I asked to see their hands before eating, yuck! Lucky for us, I picked up some Wet-Nap antibacterial hand wipes from Walmart prior to our adventure. They were perfect for our afternoon of fun! I didn’t mind the kids getting their hands dirty, literally! Because I knew I had my Wet-Nap wipes in hand 😉 They cleaned up their hands and amidst them feeling ravenous, they even commented on how good they smell! Funny, cause’ that’s one of the first things I noticed when I used them too! Wet-Nap products are softer and stronger than before and moisturize with aloe!

Have you ever tried Wet-Nap wipes before? If not, I would recommend giving them a try! I don’t think you will be disappointed. I even have a coupon for you to print out before you go! Click HERE, while supplies last! Look for Wet-Nap products in the napkin isle of your local Walmart.

Making the “Old” New Again!

July 28, 2014 by Fotini Filed Under: diy, kids playroom, lamp makeover, makeover, repurpose, spray paint 6 Comments

It seems I have a “thing” for lamps, and pillows, and chairs… Oh, who am I kidding I am a fool for decor! I don’t see it as a bad thing, but ask my husband and he would probably say different, ha! Anywho, I’ve had a set of lamps just sitting not being used for months. I decided to give one of them a makeover and add it to our basement! We were in need of a lamp of some sort down there anyways! It’s amazing what a little spray paint can do, and a new lamp shade!

Before I started, I put some aluminium foil over the socket of the lamp so it wouldn’t get paint on it. I spray painted using Valspar La Fonda Mirage, flat spray paint. I gave it a nice two even coats. Before the piece was completely dry, I rubbed some of the porous places already in the lamp and it opened them up a tad, giving definition to the lamp! I picked up a charcoal gray lampshade from Hobby Lobby earlier in the week for only $12! It kind of gave me a boost on this project and fit it perfectly! I absolutely adore decorating with neutrals, but the fun of our basement is I went a little outside the box. We opted for a dark gray on the walls and since it doubles as the kids playroom, it’s oozing with color! Stay tuned for the full reveal coming soon!!

Cover Up – – Pallet Art

July 21, 2014 by Fotini Filed Under: basement solutions, diy, pallet art, pallet ideas 9 Comments

I have yet to share the completion of our basement renovation! I am still in the process of adding the finishing touches to the decor! Today, however, I’m sharing a simple project we did that adds a good deal of character to the space!
One of the biggest eye sore’s in our basement was the electrical box. It seemed to be in the most inappropriate spot possible, nearly in the middle of the wall. We wanted to create something to disguise it, but functional when we needed to get to it. So here’s what we came up with! Pallet art on hinges!
To start, we disassembled a pallet, sanded it and stained it. Next, we stenciled “est 2006” on it with black spray paint, let dry and lightly sanded. The stain we used was Weathered Gray by Rustoleum. My husband used two industrial sized hinges since this pallet was so heavy. We also secured a magnet to the end so it would successfully close, but easily open.In time, I intend on adding some cute little clips to display the kids artwork and easily switch it out! You can really let your creativity shine with a project like this!
