Pretty in pink Christmas

December 14, 2020 by Fotini Filed Under: 14 meals, 16, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 25 Days of Christmas, 27 West & Co., 4th of July, Christmas tree, diy

Hey friend! I have been sharing little peeks of my office pretty in pink Christmas tree for a couple weeks now. Today I’m sharing all the details!

It is one of my favorites! It is simple, feminine, pink, sparkly & allll the feels. The tree is a 6.5 foot black & gold ombre tree. It has been such a fun tree to decorate because it is so multi-functional.

I started off with some easy DIY ornaments I made years ago using small inexpensive store frames & adding scripture print in them. Check out the tutorial HERE. Next, I began adding in glittery ornaments & mercury glass balls in silver & white. I absolutely love working with pinks, champagnes & all the neutrals! It truly makes for a stunning combination!

Time for fillers! I used glittery stems, glittered eucalyptus, white eucalyptus, glittery ferns & such. Fillers bring your tree to life & give it so much character! I love using big, whimsy stems that droop & hang. My favorite touch to this pretty in pink Christmas tree design, is the velvet poinsettias I snagged from Hobby Lobby for half off!

It is truly the perfect addition to my office! I love looking at it & hope to keep it up for awhile! Even after the new year!

Thank you so much for stopping by & I hope to see you back here again soon!

A Warm, Cozy Chic Christmas Tree

A Warm, Cozy Chic Christmas Tree

Hello there & welcome! Decorating my home for Christmas is one of my very favorite things! Creating a warm, cozy chic Christmas tree design was my goal this Christmas, & I feel that I accomplished just that!

I get asked a lot “do you buy all new ornaments each year?”, & the answer is no! I typically do shop after Christmas sales & may pick up some new ornaments for me to use the following Christmas, but I actually use the same ornaments year-to-year. It’s amazing how you can make your tree look different each year, even while using those same ornaments! [Read more…]

Little Drummer Boy- Inspired Christmas

November 24, 2017 by Fotini Filed Under: Christmas

This year, I teamed up with Treetopia to create a one-of-a-kind little drummer boy- inspired Christmas tree! To some, I may decorate too early, but for me I just get to enjoy it longer! Being a home decor blogger, doesn’t help much either 😉 It’s kind of like retail, you have to stay ahead of the game! Decorating early comes with the territory.

One of my very favorite things about decorating the Christmas tree each year, is gathering the inspiration for that specific tree. I wanted my tree to be simple, yet beautiful and I have to say, I think I accomplished just that! The tree I chose this year for my office, was the Alexander Fir Christmas Tree 7.5’ Clear. It’s full branches and perfectly placed white lights are magical!

I always begin by placing my statement pieces or ornaments first. I’ve found that going in a pattern works best and makes the tree have some symmetry. So in this case, I added the gemmed up beaded ornaments first, alternating the gold and bronze. These ornaments are so unique and catch the light beautifully! I wasn’t quite sure at first, how I was going to capture the theme of the little drummer boy. Then, I thought something as simple as, little drummer boy silhouettes would immediately set the tone. I found these free silhouettes here. To continue with that theme, I printed off the sheet music of the hymn, here. These were simply the best touches of the tree!

Next I went through and added some simple picture frame ornaments, mercury glass balls and sprigs here and there for texture. The simplicity of this design is captivating to me! It truly is simple and allows me to enjoy the beauty of the tree and white lights!

Speaking of white, I went outside my comfort zone a little and opted for a white garland. When I first opened the package I was a little nervous I wouldn’t be able to incorporate it into my design. But, this just goes to show sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is necessary, even if it’s just decorating for Christmas 😉 Had the garland been the traditional green, I think it would of been too much and completely taken away from the tree. I draped the glittering white garland with a frosted eucalyptus garland I previously had and it was the perfect touch!

The beautiful sadie Fir wreath fit like a glove on my beloved silhouette stand. To tie in with the design, I simply tied a piece of satin white ribbon around the waste. What a big difference that little detail made! At a routine stop at Marshall’s, I spotted sheet music wrapping paper. That was the icing on the cake, if you will, to the little drummer boy Christmas tree!

It was a true treat to be apart of the Treetopia Design Council this year! Make sure to stop by and check out all the other amazing Christmas designs!

Chic Woodland-inspired Christmas

November 28, 2016 by Fotini Filed Under: Christmas, home decor, Uncategorized 6 Comments

Hello beautiful! I hope you’re doing wonderful today! Things have been hectic around our house, which seems to be the norm lately! I’ve been having a harder time than usual adjusting to blog deadlines, decorating and balancing my home. It’s gotten a little overwhelming at times, and I’m trying to figure it all out! On top of that, I’ve been suffering terribly with my allergies, which physically makes me feel drained. BUT, on a positive note, I’m still here! Still kickin’ and still sharing my passion with you all!

Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you all my chic woodland-inspired Christmas tree! If you follow along with me on Instagram, you’ve seen a lot of pics of it!

When you think of Halloween you probably don’t think of putting up a tree. And to be honest, it’s not something I’ve ever done… Until now! I was super excited when I received an email to work with Treetopia and be apart of their Witches and Wonders Halloween Blog Hop! What is that you may ask? It’s where myself and four other ladies chose one of the beautiful Treetopia trees and gave them little Halloween twist!

Today I’m sharing with you my Halloween inspired tree!

Personalized Ornaments

December 3, 2012 by Fotini Filed Under: chalkboard, Christmas, Christmas Craft, Christmas ornaments, diy, DIY crafts, ornaments, Personalized ornaments 6 Comments

I headed to Hobby Lobby with a project in mind… I was on the search for small wooden rectangles and a chalk pen. Did you know chalk pens existed? You must go buy one!! Anyways, I found four {4} thin,  wooden rectangles (about 3”x 2”) for $1.47, score! Once I was home, I sprayed the wooden rectangles with chalkboard paint, with two full coats, each side. Let dry completely. My lovely hubby drilled a small hole into the top for the twine I’d be threading through! To “activate” the chalkboard effect, rub chalk over the entire piece and wipe off. I grabbed my new love, the chalk pen and wrote some of my favorite Christmas-y quotes: Joy to the world, Merry & Bright, Peace on Earth and drew a cute snowflake! Previously, I had bought red and white bakers twine at the Target Dollar Corner for $1, so I used this for hanging the ornament on the tree!

How cute are they?! And you can personalize them to say anything you like! Great as gifts or for the kids 🙂

Our Christmas Tree 2012

November 29, 2012 by Fotini Filed Under: burlap, burlap garland, Christmas, Christmas decor, Christmas tree, home decor 6 Comments

I’m like a kid when it comes to decorating for Christmas, I LOVE it! I tend to use red, white and silver. This year I decided to use burlap wired ribbon for the garland. I think it breaks it up nicely and goes well with the rest of my rustic decor!

Unfortunately, I won’t be putting any presents under the tree until Christmas Eve, because there’s a very busy 19 month old running around here and I know they won’t last… I’m still trying to convince my husband to put a tree up in our room and I could wrap the presents and keep them there, we’ll see if that happens 😉
Well, lets get to it already, here’s my tree this year!
