Winter Chic Christmas

December 4, 2020 by Fotini Filed Under: 14 meals, 16, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 25 Days of Christmas, 27 West & Co., 4th of July, Christmas, home decor

Hey friend! I’m happy to have you here today! I’m sharing my 2020 Winter chic Christmas design with you! Grab a cup of hot cocoa, snuggle up & come get cozy with me!

It’s no surprise to you, that 2020 has been quite a year. I hope that despite all the change & chaos, you are able to enjoy the Holiday season. You may know that I shared my Thanksgiving Tree at the beginning of November, so sure enough I began to get the itch to decorate for Christmas about a week before Thanksgiving.

I wasn’t quite sure what look I was going for this year, but I knew I wanted it to be glittery, pink & chic! Like most of my past designs, I tend to use the same stems, fillers, ornaments & ribbon. That being the case, most of designs are similar. I’m ok with that because they’re still each different & unique.

My best advice is grab LOTS of fillers! I tend to use less ornaments & more stems & fillers to make the tree appear full. Always work in a pattern. Start at the top & bottom & fill in between with your ornaments first. I bunch my fillers into piles on the floor. Next, start adding them in a pattern throughout the tree. I like to keep them hanging out, drooping, etc. It gives the tree so much more character that way! Finish by adding your spiraled ribbon in a pattern as well. I uses three different ribbons.

I have shared in the past how I incorporate the ribbons throughout my tree, but would you be interested in me sharing it again? It seems to be a pretty frequent question. And you won’t believe how simple it really is!

I have two cats & they have both enjoyed the warm fires daily & glow of the Christmas tree during the day. However, my gray tabby, Rocky, has began climbing the tree again. He’s so ornery! I’m just glad I was able to snag some pics before he wrecked it completely! The kitty pictured above is Tinsel. She’s the biggest sweetie & my shadow!

I so appreciate you stopping by here & hanging out with me for a bit! I’ll be sharing more soon, so I hope that you will come back! Have a wonderful day!

Gallery wall update

July 23, 2020 by Fotini Filed Under: 14 meals, 16, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 25 Days of Christmas, 27 West & Co., 4th of July, home decor

I have had my current gallery wall since we moved in our house over 8 years ago! I love it because it displays some of my very favorite pictures of the kids through the years, but I think it’s time for an update!

My living room is a very open and airy space that opens up to my formal dining room and kitchen. The theme throughout each is, you guessed it, neutral tones! With that being said, I want to continue that neutral theme by adding white frames.

I’ve created this super simple mood board as my inspiration for the project! If you follow me on Instagram you may have participated in the poll asking for your all’s input on the “gallery wall” matter! I initially was torn between either doing the white frames or wrapped canvas. The results were 59% of you voted white frames and 41% voted wrapped canvas.

I feel the white frames will likely be the look I’m going for. I have looked up frame after frame and finally came to a conclusion on what I’ll be using! I can’t wait to share that with you! I know, I know… I’m leaving you hanging for now! But I will be sharing soon! Step 1 of the gallery wall update is getting new pictures taken of the kiddos. I think I’m going to opt for either black and white, or a muted filter for the pictures. Step 2 is painting my living room!

Faux plant inspiration

Well hello there stranger! It has been awhile since I’ve been around here! I’ve been taking some much needed time to myself, but ready to get back into the swing of things. Now that winter is almost over, I am in full Spring- mode over here! You too?

Today I wanted to share with you some simple ways to add spring into your home! These faux plants will inspire you to bring life into your decor! Click on any picture below to be taken directly to that product! Easy peasy!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know last week I bought some live house plants to add into my decor! I will be sharing how I incorporated them throughout my home soon! I’m crossing my fingers that I’m able to keep them alive! My wrap sheet to this point is unsuccessful with live plants, but I’m hopeful this go-around. If you don’t want to take the risk with live houseplants, these faux ones are the next best thing!! A lot of times, you can’t even tell the difference!

These little faux plants are the perfect addition to your coffee or side tables, mantel designs, bookshelves, windowsills and added to your kitchen decor, just to name a few! I love adding herbs into the kitchen! I spend a lot of time in my kitchen, so seeing those sweet little plants makes me happy! It’s the little things people!

Do you add faux or real plants to your decor? Share your thoughts by commenting below!

I will be back here soon with an update on my Spring mantel design!

A Warm, Cozy Chic Christmas Tree

Hello there & welcome! Decorating my home for Christmas is one of my very favorite things! Creating a warm, cozy chic Christmas tree design was my goal this Christmas, & I feel that I accomplished just that!

I get asked a lot “do you buy all new ornaments each year?”, & the answer is no! I typically do shop after Christmas sales & may pick up some new ornaments for me to use the following Christmas, but I actually use the same ornaments year-to-year. It’s amazing how you can make your tree look different each year, even while using those same ornaments! [Read more…]

My Favorite Fall Finds from Amazon

October 8, 2018 by Fotini Filed Under: fall, home decor 1 Comment

Today I wanted to share with you, my favorite fall finds from Amazon! Back when I was regularly blogging about home decor & decorating frequently, I would frequent my favorite stores weekly. Now days, I’m lucky if I make it to the grocery store. At times like that, I appreciate online shopping from places like Amazon! These are neutral pieces that are sure to fit into your farmhouse home decor perfectly!

The weather here in Ohio went from the 90’s one day, to literally the 60’s the next! A typical Ohioan would say, “welcome to Ohio”. I’m not complaining one bit about the dropping temps! I am SO ready for the crisp temps that come with the changing season. The changing of the season’s has me eager to decorate the inside of my home to cozy, romantic comfort!

One of my favorite things to do each evening is light candles! Not only for the scent, but because it creates such a relaxing atmosphere. Our living room is where we spend most of our time in the evenings, so lighting some candles on the mantel after dinner, cozying up on the couch & watching our favorite shows is something I look forward to every day! You could also say I’m pretty cheesy in the sense of, every Fall it’s time to break out our favorite annual Halloween movies! Movies like Casper, Hocus Pocus & The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown ☺️

Incorporating neutral tones is one of the simplest ways to change the decor during the season. For example, if you want to start with this neutral design, then add in some spooky details for Halloween and then simply transition into Thanksgiving decor. You can do so, so easily using these staple decor pieces!

What is your favorite way to bring Fall into your home each season? Do you have traditions that you tend to follow each year when it comes to decorating or incorporating certain pieces?

I would love to hear your remarks! Thanks so much for stopping by & shopping a little bit with me today! I hope to see you back here again soon!
