Hi and welcome!! It’s wonderful to have you here today! If you’re coming from Just Us Four blog from the Father’s Day post I shared over there, it’s great to have you here! Just to fill you in a little on what I’m talking about, I share a free printable each month over at Shannah’s blog, but this month we did things a little differently! I featured the printable on her blog and now you can download it here on my blog!

Father's Day print

Father’s Day is less than two weeks away! Do you know what you’re doing for the special dads in your life? It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant, something simple will do just fine 😉 Today’s printable is just that, simple but straight to the point!

I’ve created this best dad ever. printable for you to use this Father’s Day! You can give this print as a framed gift for his desk at work, man cave, garage or for his nightstand to wake up to every morning! Also, just by changing the print size, you can print it as a 3.5 x 5 and use them as gift tags! Use your creativity, there’s so many possibilities!

As I shared on Shannah’s blog, earlier this month we had the pleasure of introducing a new member to our family, a 1971 Ford pick up truck! I shared what we got my husband for Father’s Day this year and also how we used this printable! We love cruising in the Ford as a family anytime we get the chance!

I hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day celebrating all the special Dads in your life!

Staying hydrated on the go!

June 1, 2015 by Fotini Filed Under: recipes 5 Comments

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Brita, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #BritaOnTheGo http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Something I’m very fortunate for is, I’ve never been a pop drinker. I may have it on occasion, but it’s certainly not a habit for me! I will tell what is a habit, drinking water! Besides my morning cup-of-joe, water is my go to drink throughout the day! If you aren’t much of a water drinker, I’m excited to share the Brita water bottle with built in filter that makes drinking water anywhere a breeze! I also have a tasty little treat for you too 😉

staying hydrated

As a Mom constantly on the go, it’s so important for me to stay hydrated and influence my kids to drink more water! Between baseball practice and games three times a week for one, and soccer practice and games for the other, having something to give me a little boost when I’m needing it most is crucial!! It may sound crazy to some, but finding a good water bottle isn’t an easy thing! I headed to Walmart (near the hardware section) and grabbed the Brita hard-sided water filter bottle. So far, it’s been the best water bottle I’ve purchased! It holds 23.7 ounces and is BPA free, plus it includes a filter that lasts for approx. 300 uses! This makes filling up no matter where we are simple! Now, here’s a simple idea for you to add some fun to your water!

Using your favorite fruits and/or herbs, simply gather, cut and prepare them to add to an ice cube tray and freeze into ice cubes. I chose lemon, lime and fresh mint. Once frozen, simply add one of each ice cube to your water and hit the road! It’s really that simple! The taste lasts, refreshes and hydrates you all at the same time! And a hidden benefit, my kids love it too!! I’m certainly not complaining when they’re asking for a water bottle of their own!

As a “sports Mom” my game day essentials are: sunglasses, sunscreen, a blanket for the chilly mornings or cool nights, something to keep the other kid occupied and of course, my Brita water bottle! What are your game day essentials? Are you ready to give the Brita water bottle a try? There are more than six seriously adorable styles to choose from, so head to your local Walmart and check them out!

Summer-time fruit salsa

May 25, 2015 by Fotini Filed Under: recipes, Spring 3 Comments

Well hello there! Boy, do I have a treat for you today!! If you’re anything like us you’re busy, busy in the Summer going to cookouts and looking for something yummy you can make! Today I’m sharing a very simple, light and delicious summer-time fruit salsa with homemade cinnamon sugar chips! Oh-my-yum!

fruit salsa

I first made this recipe a few years ago for the first time, but not since. We were having a Memorial Day cookout with family and friends, so I decided to make it again! It’s a great alternative to fattening desserts, plus it’s light and fresh!

You’re going to need:

2 apples, peeled and diced

2 kiwis, peeled and diced

2 nectarines, diced

8 strawberries, diced

handful of blueberries, cut into fourths

2 tablespoons white sugar

1 tablespoon brown sugar

3 tablespoons fruit preserves (I used natural strawberry)

12  10″ flour tortillas

4 tablespoons melted better

cinnamon sugar mixture

It’s really quite simple, begin preparing your fruits and putting them into a glass bowl. Dice everything pretty small since you’re going for a salsa consistency! Next mix in your white and brown sugar and preserves. Let chill for at least 30 minutes before serving (I made mine the day before, so it sit over night).

For your homemade tortilla chips, grab a tortilla and brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, flip over and repeat on the other side. Using a pizza cutter, slice the tortillas to your desired chip size. Do this for the remaining tortillas. Cook for 8 minutes, until lightly brown and slightly crispy. Let cool completely before serving.

Another thing I love about this recipe is it’s super fun and easy for the kids to help make! My little one had a lot of fun helping Mommy in the kitchen, and she did a great job brushing on the butter and sprinkling the cinnamon sugar! Not to mention, she loved telling everyone that she made it all by herself 😉

Don’t be surprised if you are asked numerous times for the recipe 😉 We will certainly be making this one again! I hope you enjoy!

Progress in the master

May 18, 2015 by Fotini Filed Under: diy, home decor 2 Comments

I may be the worlds slowest decorator… We have lived in our home for three years now and we are just getting around to finishing our master bedroom. Some of you may find it ridiculous, and just hearing it makes me slightly embarrassed! But, in the same breath, my styles change and I find myself really falling in love with what we’re currently doing so I think the wait will be worth it!

Fab Pins of the Week!

May 15, 2015 by Fotini Filed Under: fab pins of the week, home decor, Pinterest Leave a Comment

So good to see you, beautiful! You don’t know just how happy I am to have you here today! Are you happy it’s Friday? I sure am! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? We have a baseball game tomorrow morning and then getting into whatever the rest of the weekend! Sometimes I really loves those kind of days!

farmhouse

I’ve probably never mentioned it before on here, but I have to my close friends and family… My dream is to have a little shop. My body just aches for one, and the more I work on projects and rehab furniture, the more I want one! It’s something I’ve been praying about and I’m leaving it up to God! If it’s meant to be, it will work out! With that said, here’s what has grabbed my attention this week, with a little rustic farmhouse shop in mind 😉
