I love patriotic decor! I adore decorating for the 4th of July and enjoying it all Summer long!
Burlap: you love it or hate it. I’m still loving it! It’s just so easy to decorate around, the perfect neutral. I love working with it when it comes to making wreaths! It flows smoothy and looks full! Today I’m sharing with you a beautiful americana burlap bubble wreath!
You will only need a few items for this project! Start off with an 18 inch wire wreath form. I picked up the burlap pictured at Walmart! You will also need scissors and a glue gun. To begin, I started with the blue star burlap. Push it under the first (outer) piece of wire, creating a loop, twist the bottom but be sure to hold into place, and push burlap into the following wire, looping as well. When you get to the third (inner) piece of wire, give it a good couple of twists to hold into place, and repeat technique throughout wreath form. I used the blue star burlap for two sections, using nearly all of it. I used the red striped burlap in three sections, and finished it out with the original burlap. To secure the ends of the burlap, once cut, hot glue into place.
I do usually 3 rows of burlap per section. Three fills it out nicely, and as you push it creates the flow-y effect. To make your wreath appear fuller, simply make your loops bigger. Just keep in mind you will use twice as much burlap, so be prepared!
It has been a true pleasure to have you here today and I hope that you will stop back by again, real soon!!
Sharing this project on these wonderful blogs!
Fotini, I would love for you to share your awesome wreath at Idea Box link party coming up this Thursday. http://csc.mycreativehome.org/2015/06/idea-box-link-party-14_11.html. Hope to see you there!

Thanks so much Cyndee!!
I have that same burlap ribbon, got at Walmart while ago but grabbed while I saw it handy. Never know when stores will stop carrying something. Have one of those wire garlands but have never known what in heck to do with it. Don’t want to glue anything permanently as I change my mind and like to use something for different idea later on. Get my money’s worth for duration. Maybe I can just tuck ribbons as I go along, see what happens. Tend to be spontaneous crafter, not much for planning, wing it as I go along.
Really love how your wreath turned out, looks great on your door. Will be nice for summer decorations all summer. Have great week
Yes, gluing it in place is just optional! I don’t always glue mine just for the reason you stated!! Thanks for stopping by and being inspired <3
Oh, I love it! I need to make one for me and one for my MIL.
Thank you!! That would be awesome! These would make a wonderful gift <3
It looks great and complements your door well. 🙂
I like burlap but have yet to tackle making a folds wreath with it.
The way you explain it, makes it sound easy. I’ll probably try something for fall.
Thanks so much!! Once you get the hang of it, they aren’t hard to make at all! It’s just getting used to the technique! Best of luck to you when you make one!!! Have a great weekend <3
