Progress in the master

May 18, 2015 by Fotini Filed Under: diy, home decor 2 Comments

I may be the worlds slowest decorator… We have lived in our home for three years now and we are just getting around to finishing our master bedroom. Some of you may find it ridiculous, and just hearing it makes me slightly embarrassed! But, in the same breath, my styles change and I find myself really falling in love with what we’re currently doing so I think the wait will be worth it!

Today I’m going to be sharing with you some basic before and after (but not finalized!) pictures! I have wanted a tufted headboard for ever, and I just couldn’t find the time to really sit down and make one from start to finish, so we cheated and bought one. It changed the look of the room immediately! I had my previous bedroom set since I was a teenager (my mom picked it out in the first place!) and just wasn’t feeling the style anymore.

A project I completed early on, was painting our espresso armoire white. And boy does it look so much better white! Removing the old hardware and adding new glass knobs from h&m turned it shabby chic instantly! For the time being we are going to keep this piece because the space is great to have! But, hey, who knows we may find something else when we least expect it!

I just cannot get away from white bedding! I love the classic, timeless look! However, for the last three years we have had a duvet, and I will never buy another one! My sweet little helper and I headed to Target and picked up a new white shabby chic comforter set. It’s machine washable, which is a huge plus! We will see how it holds and washes up! But, I’m loving it for now 🙂 Soon, I will also be sharing the roman numeral clock I made!!

More exciting projects and details will be emerging soon, so stayed tuned! Until then, I wanted to share a peek of our gallery wall and a couple of vintage books I snagged at the Springfield Extravaganza the other day!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the progress on our master bedroom! I’m excited to finally get it completed!

Sharing on these blogs!
