This was a tedious, but oh so necessary job: prepping the kitchen for paint! Do yourself the favor and tape everything off before you begin painting! It will eliminate -oopsies and extra cleanup after. We were not painting the inside of the cabinets, so we simply removed the doors and taped off the inside edges. Once the doors are removed, make sure to remove all hardware, knobs and bumpers. Degrease cabinets using a cleaner such as, goof off. Cleaning the grease off is important in the kitchen, because those grease spots can seep through paint. This is also a good time to fill any nicks or gashes with wood filler. Sand before painting.
10 Farmhouse Kitchen Lantern Options
I’m going to have a very small budget for updating our kitchen lighting. The reason being, is we plan to move in the next 2 years (hopefully to a farmhouse!), and I don’t want to deplete my budget on lighting. I want to keep it simple but in sync with the farmhouse style! Today I’m sharing with you 10 farmhouse kitchen lantern options that I’m picturing for my kitchen renovation! #farmhousechicblogreno.

The above options are affordable and right up the alley of what I have in mind! I love the look of the oil rubbed bronze or black lantern lighting hanging above the kitchen island. I currently have 3 mercury glass pendant lights, but they do not produce enough light. The plan is to find two smaller, 10 inch size, lanterns to hang in its place.
I’m always on the search for items that fit my style and budget! If you’re in search for something similar, I hope that this will take some of the hard work out for you! It can be a real pain sometimes, searching through all the options out there!
What do you think about the lantern pendant idea for above my island? I’m always looking for opinions, so feel free to share yours!
Thanks so much for stopping by! See you next time.
Farmhouse Kitchen Inspiration Board
Hey you! If you’ve been hanging out with me awhile, you will know that I’ve been dying to paint our kitchen white and do a budget-friendly remodel! Last Christmas I busted out signing to my husband one morning, “I’m dreaming of a white kitchen!”… he lost it! Seriously though! It’s the only part of our house that doesn’t “fit”! And it’s one we spend the most time in! The business we own is seasonal, so we tend to have down time in the Winter, and I’m hoping my husband will agree to get started soon! Today I’m sharing my farmhouse kitchen inspiration board with you all! Even more exciting, I’m sharing some Parrot Uncle hanging lights, if you’re doing your own remodel or just want to update your lighting!
