Memorial Day picnic + my lawn

May 24, 2017 by Fotini Filed Under: home Leave a Comment

Hey you! Memorial Day is just a few days away! Do you have any fun plans? My little ones will be with their Daddy this weekend, so we’re celebrating a few days early! I’m still sorta adjusting to this whole co-parenting thing. It makes me sad that I’m not able to spend every little holiday with my kiddos, but I understand the importance of them spending time with their Daddy too!

Any who, the weather here in Ohio has finally (for the moment) been sunny! Temps are rising and we are just aching to get outside!! The kids wanted to celebrate Memorial Day with a little dessert picnic in the yard! If you follow along with me on Instagram, you know just how frequently I share my obsession with flowers! I love planting and nurturing them, not only flowers, but my yard too! A healthy yard is something we enjoy, as much as possible, throughout the warm months. We host a spew of barbecues and birthday’s during the Summer! Being outdoors is a huge part of our family-home life during the the warm months! Our grass is finally starting to look plush and full! All that Spring rain has helped a little too 😉

Creating a regular lawn care plan is something I think that every homeowner should have. Even if it’s just the simple things, like a weekly mow and occasional watering during those super hot summer days. Taking it the next level and having your lawn treated with TruGreen is also a great idea! Why is that you ask? Because they take all of the hard work out for you! You can select your desired lawn care plan and notice a big difference within a few applications! Be the envy of the neighborhood with one of the prettiest lawns around! TruGreen believes more life should be lived outside and is committed to providing a beautiful lawn to serve as the foundation for outside experiences and lifelong memories.

I hope that you’re able to create beautiful memories with your family this Memorial Day and all summer long! Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing my cute little garden shed with you all soon!

See you next time 🙂

DIY Flower Pots

April 13, 2015 by Fotini Filed Under: crafts, diy, home decor, Pinterest, Spring Leave a Comment

Hi, so wonderful to have you! The weather around here has been beautiful, and I’m loving every minute of it! I’ve been planting tons of flowers! Each year I opt for a color pattern and specific flower, and this year I let the kids decide. They chose shades of purple pansies. I am really loving the color combination together! I will share some photos of our front landscaping another time. Until then, I’m sharing a fun little way to update some old flower pots you may have lying around!

Okay, so could this before pic be any more horrid, gracious! A few years back I bought these light yellow plastic pots at Target. They’ve done their job rightfully so by housing some beautiful blooms, but I just wasn’t feelin’ the color any more. I knew it was nothing a little spray paint couldn’t fix! But, not just any spray paint… Chalkboard spray paint! And yes, I know what you’re thinking… “she’s still into that chalkboard craze?” and the answer is YES, yes I am! The possibilities are endless and I love letting my imagination run wild.

I cleaned up the pots and began spraying an even coat of chalkboard spray paint on each pot. It’s important to let each coat of paint dry completely before applying the next. Once the first coat was dry, I applied a heavy second coat, and let dry. To activate the chalkboard effect, grab a piece of chalk and begin rubbing it over the entire piece. This is an important step not to skip! Wipe off using a lightly damp paper towel and you’re all set to go! I like the look of chalk roughed up, or rubbed on there, so that’s the look I went with!

I wrote “watch me grow” on one of the pots, pretty fitting, don’t you think? 😉 And please excuse our horrible looking deck. We still have yet to do anything with that mess! But, look at that.. Little Lola girl decided to pose with the new flower pots! She’s a fan of them, and I am too! I can’t wait to see and enjoy the beauty of them, and the flowers!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Fab Pins of the Week!

April 10, 2015 by Fotini Filed Under: diy, fab pins of the week, home decor, Pinterest, Spring, Uncategorized 4 Comments

Hey you! Welcome to my little corner.. I hope you will stick around for awhile! I’m so glad the weekend is here! It has been raining all week here in Ohio, I’m not complaining, really I’m not.. But the weekend is supposed to be a gorgeous one and I can’t wait!

fab pins of the week

I am just aching to get outside and work in my garden, and I think that’s exactly what I will do tomorrow! Our garden wasn’t very big last year, I would say maybe 7 feet by 4 feet, or so. I would like to nearly double that this year! My strawberries are growing “like weeds” and I can’t wait until they begin producing!! So anyways, I could go on for hours about gardening, my flowers and my visions with you, but I will do you a favor and cut it short 😉 This week I have been inspired by gardening and I hope you will leave here inspired too!
