I’ll tell you what, we couldn’t be more excited that Spring is officially on it’s way, here at our house! The kids are on Spring Break this week and we’ll soon be headed to the beach!

To be honest, the last few years we have done absolutely nothing while the kids were off school, so this year I wanted to treat them to a little adventure! It’s no secret that we are crazy about our pups in this family! I’m often featuring them sitting pretty in, and around, our home. There’s no doubt that they make the cutest models for showcasing my designs! I’ve grown up having a dog around since I can remember. As a matter of fact, my mom bought me a sweet Maltese puppy for my second birthday! Talk about a girls best friend! I truly believe that our animals are apart of our family, they are just like children to me. I worry about them when they aren’t feeling well, if they’re lost, I care about their eating habits and giving them healthy snacks. Which is why I was so excited to introduce them to Milo’s Kitchen home-style dog treats!

DIY botanical prints

Hi there and welcome! I’m pretty excited to share this simple, fun project the kids and I did this week using Glad Press’n Seal I picked up at Walmart. The days have been rainy nearly everyday here in Ohio, so I’m left finding ways to keep the little ones busy indoors! The great thing about this project is it can be done all year around!

diy botanical prints

A few things you’re going to need for this project are: a roll of Glad Press’n Seal, scissors, live leafs of any kind, kraft paper, stamps, ink and glue stick.

To begin, pull out and rip off a piece of the Glad Press’n Seal to your desired size. Lay it with the sticky side up. Grab a leaf or group of leaves you’ve chosen and press into place. Using kraft paper, stamps and ink, create labels according to the type of plant. Use a glue stick to hold into place. Grab another piece of Glad Press’n Seal, the same size as the first, and place sticky side down. Using your hands, push over the entire piece, leaving little to no air inside. Trim the ends and sides if needed, and voila! You now have your own little piece of botanical art!!

It’s amazing to think that a kitchen product could be used for so many different, creative things, but it’s endless! Using your imagination and creativity you can create anything! This is such a cool product because it adheres to nearly any surface!

The kids and I had a really fun time making these DIY botanical prints with leaves from around our yard! They can’t wait to make more using leaves from plants in our garden!

So what do you think? That’s easy enough, right?! What are a few creative ways you could use this product for more than just in the kitchen?

It was such a pleasure to have you here today! Thanks for stopping by <3

Staying hydrated on the go!

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Brita, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #BritaOnTheGo http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Something I’m very fortunate for is, I’ve never been a pop drinker. I may have it on occasion, but it’s certainly not a habit for me! I will tell what is a habit, drinking water! Besides my morning cup-of-joe, water is my go to drink throughout the day! If you aren’t much of a water drinker, I’m excited to share the Brita water bottle with built in filter that makes drinking water anywhere a breeze! I also have a tasty little treat for you too 😉

staying hydrated

As a Mom constantly on the go, it’s so important for me to stay hydrated and influence my kids to drink more water! Between baseball practice and games three times a week for one, and soccer practice and games for the other, having something to give me a little boost when I’m needing it most is crucial!! It may sound crazy to some, but finding a good water bottle isn’t an easy thing! I headed to Walmart (near the hardware section) and grabbed the Brita hard-sided water filter bottle. So far, it’s been the best water bottle I’ve purchased! It holds 23.7 ounces and is BPA free, plus it includes a filter that lasts for approx. 300 uses! This makes filling up no matter where we are simple! Now, here’s a simple idea for you to add some fun to your water!

Using your favorite fruits and/or herbs, simply gather, cut and prepare them to add to an ice cube tray and freeze into ice cubes. I chose lemon, lime and fresh mint. Once frozen, simply add one of each ice cube to your water and hit the road! It’s really that simple! The taste lasts, refreshes and hydrates you all at the same time! And a hidden benefit, my kids love it too!! I’m certainly not complaining when they’re asking for a water bottle of their own!

As a “sports Mom” my game day essentials are: sunglasses, sunscreen, a blanket for the chilly mornings or cool nights, something to keep the other kid occupied and of course, my Brita water bottle! What are your game day essentials? Are you ready to give the Brita water bottle a try? There are more than six seriously adorable styles to choose from, so head to your local Walmart and check them out!

Our Summer Picnic with Wet-Nap In Hand!

It’s hard to believe that Summer break is almost over, and this time next month the kids will be back in school. With that in mind, I wanted to plan a fun afternoon as a family! When my husband was younger, and even when we first started dating over a decade ago, we enjoyed time at a local “mountain” called Rising Park! It’s a fun little hike up the mountain and lots to see along the way. Once at the top, it over looks the heart of Lancaster.

After the hike was over, I planned a delicious picnic for us at the park below. The kids were really anxious to quench their thirst and fill their bellies! We got our spot all set up and I asked to see their hands before eating, yuck! Lucky for us, I picked up some Wet-Nap antibacterial hand wipes from Walmart prior to our adventure. They were perfect for our afternoon of fun! I didn’t mind the kids getting their hands dirty, literally! Because I knew I had my Wet-Nap wipes in hand 😉 They cleaned up their hands and amidst them feeling ravenous, they even commented on how good they smell! Funny, cause’ that’s one of the first things I noticed when I used them too! Wet-Nap products are softer and stronger than before and moisturize with aloe!

Have you ever tried Wet-Nap wipes before? If not, I would recommend giving them a try! I don’t think you will be disappointed. I even have a coupon for you to print out before you go! Click HERE, while supplies last! Look for Wet-Nap products in the napkin isle of your local Walmart.

Kids Halloween Party, The Games!

October 26, 2013 by Fotini Filed Under: ad, Cottonelle toilet paper, diy, Halloween party games, kid Halloween games, PMedia, Pollinate Media Group, sponsored post

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Cottonelle, but all opinions are my own. http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

Trick-or-treat comes and goes so quickly, it seems like the little ones don’t actually get to enjoy it much! This year I had the idea of hosting a kids costume party for my little ones, friends and family to enjoy! With that in mind I headed to none other than, Target to get some goodies! While I was there I picked up the new Cottonelle Triple Roll toilet paper to use for decor and for games. Be sure to grab yours too, and take advantage of the promotional offer “Buy Cottonelle Triple Rock 12 pack or larger and receive a FREE box of Kleenex”, while supplies last! Coupon here!

And that brings me today’s post, the games! Of course, this is the best part of the party for the kids!! We had a variety of ages, from 1-12, so I wanted the games to be functional and fun for everyone! The games were played inside the house since it’s like Winter outside (ah!), luckily I planned for that!

First we played pumpkin bowling! I stacked six rolls of the Cottonelle Triple Roll up pyramid style. I glued cute little googly eyes on them so they appeared as “ghosts”! We noticed unlike the picture below, separating the rolls so there is more of a gap in between them is easier for the kids to knock down. I used a mini pumpkin and removed the stem.

Next we played Halloween bingo and did the piñata! Oh, how fun that was!

Next up was the Mummy wrap! It was so much fun to watch the little ones work together in creating their own Mummy in 60 seconds! For this game we used two rolls per team. This was by far their favorite game of the night! After each team finished their Mummy, we saw who could get out of it the quickest! Then it seems we had a slight toilet paper fight, so fun! I will share all the printables I created for each game in another post next week, so check back!

The last game we played was pin the tail on the black cat! I used a black poster board, drew and cut out the shape of the cat. I glued on googly eyes and used different lengths of fish line for the whiskers! I wrapped the cat up like a Mummy too, and it was just adorable!

I also used a few pieces of toilet paper to embellish the sides of my picture frames to “Mummy-fy” them a bit! Who knew with a little bit of creativity and a pack of toilet paper, you could create fun for an entire party?

I will be sharing the full party and details next week! I hope to see ya back then 😉
