Despite the cliche of Valentine’s Day, I love decorating for the widely celebrated holiday! Today I’m sharing with you the sweet additions, our simple Valentine’s mantel. I’m not sure whether it’s the bits of pink and feminine designs that make it so fun, or just the “out of the norm” for me… but I love it!
Now, by no means do I go all out for decorating for the holiday. I just enjoy adding in bits of pink and fun textures that I may not usually use. As always, I stick to my natural obsession of neutrals. Lately though, I have been intrigued by gold! Adding it into my designs gives it a more traditional tone. I know with gold, you either love it or hate it. Had you asked me awhile ago, I would of hated it. It seems to be growing on me though. How do you feel about gold?
The big antique gold frames I have are quite possibly one of my favorite picking finds! They were supposed to be resold, but how can I let go of those beauties? I kept one in it’s original gold and white-waxed the other. I love heading to Goodwill and finding little frames to paint and repurpose. The two smaller frames on my mantel are Goodwill finds, that I did exactly that, painted. By swagging different textured ribbon across the mantel, adds a fun flare. I love adding ribbons and banners to my designs.
Adding my vintage books and beloved mercury glass is just a no brainer. Those two things pretty much go hand-in-hand when it comes to my every-day designs. They’re pretty much the staple pieces to my decor! You have those too, right? What are some of your favorite decor pieces?
Well, that complete it y’all! Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out our Valentine’s mantel! I hope that you have a wonderful day and hope to see you back here again soon!
I really liked these additions to your simple valentines mantel. Thanks for sharing.
