Hello beautiful, how are you today? I’m super excited you’re here! Now that Halloween is over, like many others, I have the -itch to decorate for Christmas, but don’t worry… I’m not pulling out the Christmas stuff just yet and forgetting about Thanksgiving! I read a beautiful Instagram post from explaining how she grew up with Christmas decor up early in November and has continued the same tradition with her family. It doesn’t mean that they’ve forgotten about Thanksgiving, it’s just something that is a tradition for their family! I love that!! Do what works for your family and don’t worry about anyone else!
However, today I’m sharing with you my neutral Fall formal dining room! So come on over and get cozy!!
You’ve heard me say it at least a hundred times this season (slight exaggeration!), but I am slightly, extremely obsessed with all the pumpkins I bought this year! I just love them!!! My formal dining room was one of the very first projects I worked on this Fall! And I haven’t changed a thing about it, yet! See, when you’re a home decor blogger… things change around the house, often! That’s not to say I don’t enjoy my designs, because I thoroughly do! This neutral design in my formal dining room is just perfect for the relaxed Thanksgiving we will be having this year! This year is going to be our first Thanksgiving as a divorced family. I would be lying to you if I said I wasn’t a little scared… Scared because I have been used to hosting both of our families together Thanksgiving Day for over a decade. I’m scared for how my children are going to feel knowing that things are going to be different this year and for every year from here on. But, I am so thankful and blessed what the Lord has done in our lives in the 11 months since the separation. Our Thanksgiving will be different this year in one aspect, but we’re embracing it with open arms!
My design is simple, lots of pumpkins, candle light, dried eucalyptus and some of my favorite antique pieces!! That simple combination, makes for a beautiful display! I have a stock, and believe me when I say stock! Of antique goodies in my garage for my shows I take part in. It’s a lot of fun being able to use those items in my displays!
I’m looking forward to making memories around this tablescape this Thanksgiving! One chapter of our story has closed, but another one has opened! Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed touring my formal dining room! May you and your family have a very blessed Thanksgiving!
