Last week, I shared my Christmas tree design with you all, and today I’m sharing my farmhouse CHIC mantel design! As I mentioned in last weeks post, my main source of inspiration was the beautiful mercury glass Christmas trees I purchased from Marhshalls. I am absolutely obsessed with them!
When I am trying to come up with a design- style, I always start with a blank slate. For this mantel, I cleared off everything except for my mirror. This is one of those pieces I never take down, so everything I do works around it. Next, I placed the trees and began adding from there. Following that was a beautiful glitter garland I bought a couple of seasons back. It draped the trees just beautifully! Then, I added some of my mercury glass votives, lambs ear greenery and a glittery-tiered stem.
Another (recent) staple piece of mine, is this ! I love how it looks just holding my extra throw pillows or blankets. The truth is, I just can’t seem to keep throw pillows functional on my couch. They always end up on the floor 🙁 So, this cute vintage hamper is the perfect fix around our house! I still get to enjoy my pillows.
One fun way I really like to add character to my Christmas designs: wrapping paper! What a fun way to play outside your comfort zone a little. I like mixing my go-to neutrals, along with some fun patterns and designs. This year I’m loving the star gift wrap, similar here and house gift wrap from the new Hearth & Home with Magnolia line at Target. Embellishing the packages with oversized bows, greenery and ribbon create such a special touch.
I love the simplicity and femininity of this entire look! It was a lot of fun to play around with my favorite neutrals, but also colors I’ve never incorporated into my Christmas decor before! Create a stunning, comfy feel by adding simple decor pieces like flocked Christmas trees, unique ornaments, stockings, layering blankets, furry pillows, etc. Making the space feel “lived in” is my favorite. I love looking at the designs where everything looks perfect, white couches, perfect lines… but that just isn’t possible in my neck of the woods. I like the lived in, cozy space so much better.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope to see you again real soon 🙂 Have a Merry Christmas.
