Oh, Fall! You encompass some of my very favorite things! The textures of Fall are just so warm and wonderful. I absolutely love creating Fall tablescapes. It gives me the chance to incorporate those favorite little things of mine into something beautiful! My favorite place to do that? My formal dining room, of course! It’s the perfect spot that I can still enjoy it every day passing by, but doesn’t get disturbed.ย Get cozy, grab a cup of hot coffee and hang out with me while I share my farmhouse chic fall tablescape with you all!

Friday Favorites #26

September 1, 2017 by Fotini Filed Under: Pinterest

Hi there friends and happy Friday! This weekend we will be channeling our early twenties selves and living without a care in the world, enjoying ourselves at Country Jam. Country Jam is a local massive country concert and we’re headed off with our camper for the next couple days to immerse ourselves in everything country music! Do you have anything exciting planned for the weekend? Oh, this is also a kid-free weekend, so no judging ๐Ÿ˜‰

Since it’s Friday, you know that means Friday Favorites! Last week, I may have shocked you by sharing some Fall inspiration. I hope that’s not the case, but I decided to tone it down a little this week. I don’t want to completely overwhelm you, haha!

October 10, 2016 by Fotini Filed Under: fall, home decor

Hello lovely! How are you today? I’m hoping that as you read this post, it finds you well and looking forward to a beautiful day! Things have been busy around here, to say the least! Instead of complaining about it, I tend to find the best in every situation! I’m very blessed for being as busy as I am and also continue to enjoy every minute of the chaos!

With that said, I’ve been slightly behind on decorating the house for Halloween. As mentioned in the past, I don’t go overboard, or the spooky route when it comes to decorating for Halloween. I try to keep it subtle and tasteful! Today I have the pleasure of sharing ‘pumpkins on the porch‘ with you! It’s my first take at a soft front porch decorated for early October!

Hello and welcome! I hope that you get cozy and stay awhile ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m glad it’s finally the weekend! Our community will have trick-or-treat tomorrow night and the kids are just itching for it! I hope that if you have little ones going out, that they have a great, safe time!

If you follow me on Facebook, you know that I mentioned the other day that we will not be hosting Thanksgiving this year, so my Christmas decor will be going up very soon! Is that crazy? It might be, but I’m pretty stinkin’ excited about it!

Fall Centerpiece

September 7, 2015 by Fotini Filed Under: fall, home decor, Uncategorized 4 Comments

Hey there friend ๐Ÿ™‚ How are you today? I’m excited you’re here! I hope each of you have a wonderful week this week! I have been on cloud 9 decorating for Fall so far! I was absolutely tickled to find a local farm market had pumpkins when we went last week (I’ve been twice now ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). But shh, don’t tell my husband!

Fall decor

I love how easy it is to create a beautiful ย Fall centerpiece by incorporating natural elements. The markets are full of cabbages, pumpkins, pears, squash and more! Use those unexpected items to create something breathtaking! Choose a color or theme you want for the season and keep it consistent throughout your design. For instance, I love the blue/green, white pumpkins and acorn squash. I love how they all look together and all produce a similar look. I also snagged a head of cabbage for just over a $1, which looks great with this mixture as well!

Folks, I really didn’t do anything spectacular here.. I simply arranged these beautiful pieces and added a few mercury glass votives. Now, tell me that isn’t easy enough? I will be adding more and staging the table as well, but as for now I’m enjoying this simple beauty <3

Pretty, Painted Pumpkins

September 21, 2012 by Fotini Filed Under: arts and crafts, craft paint, diy, fall, home decor, painted pumpkins, pumpkins, stencil 50 Comments

I’ve been so excited to do this project!ย We had just went to the pumpkin patch in the early part of the week and I could just barely wait to paint those pumpkins ๐Ÿ™‚ I headed to Hobby Lobby to pick up my supplies for this project. I opted for a pearl finish, metallic silver, antique gold and midnight blue craft paints. These were 30% off at the time (making them about $1.15 each). I also grabbed a cute stencil in the same isle for $2.99 ( I will use this for lots of other projects!) I browsed the ribbon for something that really stood out to me. I didn’t find the exact color I was looking for, so I went with this navy blue and white design that will go well with my paint colors ( originally $3.99 but I used a 40% off coupon, making it $2.42).
Once I was back home, I grabbed a painters tarp and my two large pumpkins and headed to the deck. I sprayed these with a cheap, white spray paint I bought at Walmart previously for $.97. While those were drying, I grabbed a few paper towels and small tupperware lids and got to work. I like to use the tupperware lids for my paint because they wipe clean really easy and you can re-use them over and over! I started my first pumpkin with the chevron design. I used about a 1.5 inch piece of painters tape cut in half to arrange the design. The first color I used was the metallic silver, and I brushed it over the entire top of the pumpkin including the stem. I did the top of my small pumpkin with the silver as well. Once the silver was (somewhat) dry, I painted the bottoms with midnight blue. I grabbed one of my large pumpkins I sprayed white and tapped a stencil “R” in the middle. Let me tell ya, stenciling a pumpkin was a little bit of a booger! Any who, I also used the midnight blue for this; carefully remove your stencil. Feeling a bit discouraged from the previous stencil, I gave it another go and taped the designed stencil next to the “R”. For this, I used the antique gold paint and carefully filled in the entire stencil, removed and did it to the other side.
ย I was so anxious to see how my chevron pumpkin turned out, I started to remove the tape… It started to pull the paint off ๐Ÿ™ Oh well, it’s not the end of the world and I decided to just go over it will the antique gold to blend it all together. I also painted one other medium pumpkin I had with the gold, as well as the middle of my small pumpkin. Next, I went back to my large initialed pumpkin and began to use the pearl finish as a glaze over the entire pumpkin. It gave it a beautiful glow!
I finished the pumpkins off by embellishing them with the ribbon I picked out! This project took me some time, but I’m happy with how there turned out! They aren’t perfect, but I didn’t expect them to be ๐Ÿ™‚
Sharing this project on these lovely sites! Thanks for hosting ladies ๐Ÿ™‚
