Simple, Neutral Early Fall Mantel

September 10, 2018 by Fotini Filed Under: fall, home decor

I’m sure you’ve heard me say it before, but as soon as the kids head back-to-school, my heart’s already set on decorating for Fall! I know, I know… some of you may think I’m crazy & that’s ok ☺️ Don’t judge, but I’ve already had a pumpkin spice latte too! Basic.

All jokes aside, I wanted to share with you my simple, neutral early Fall mantel today! It’s a super simple introduction to what my Fall decor will be. It includes fun textures & cozy elements!

I’ve mentioned the route I go when it comes to starting my designs. I start with a blank slate & mirror each side of the mantel from there. I’ll use similar items, colors & textures to create a flow. For example, I have one mercury glass candlestick that is much taller than the other, so I will stack the shorter one on some vintage books.

My go-to greenery is always silver dollar eucalyptus! It’s naturally pretty, whimsy design takes the spot-light effortlessly every time! If there’s any already broken or short stems, I’ll use those in small votive holders, otherwise I typically keep the length of the stems. I’ll stuff them behind & into anywhere they will fit, once again mirroring as I go!

For me, the more candlelight the better! I think there’s nothing more cozy & romantic than sitting by candlelight! I snagged a huge pack of taper candles from At Home the other day for super cheap! When I find them that cheap, I stock up because with the cool nights & holiday’s coming, I always love lighting candles! Underneath my small mercury glass votives, I snuck in some Spanish moss. You can barely see it in photos, but it gives the design a detailed touch.

I snuck in my “gather” pallet sign right in the middle of the mantel. The eye draws there, but the rest of the decor compliments it nicely. The remaining decor is super simple & just incorporates some of the same elements used up top. I added some of the whimsy eucalyptus to my old crock & then again in my little jute basket to tie the entire look together. I finally get the pull out the big, chunky knit blanket Kenny got me last Winter! I’m absolutely obsessed with it!

And there you have it.. my simple, neutral early Fall mantel! I will be adding little baby boo white pumpkins & possibly switching the design up a little as we head more into Fall. As for now, I love the clean, crisp appearance this mantel gives off!

Thank you so much for stopping by & checking it out today! I hope to see you back here again soon!
