Hello there! I love to decorate my formal dining room because it’s a room that doesn’t get used very often but that we can see and enjoy from our living room! It’s basically like my “staged” room, where I get to play with designs that typically don’t get disturbed by little fingers!
This year I opted for a Winter wonderland inspired tablescape! Natural greens, candles and glitter (of course!). It’s beautiful to look at, and I think I am most intrigued by it’s simplicity! In the early part of the season, I spotted beautiful glittery from Jo Ann’s. They were the main source of my inspiration! I created everything else around them! While out on another trip to Michaels, I snagged a beautiful, quite real-looking discounted! I just couldn’t wait to get home and get creating!!
I have explained in the past how I like to set up my tables capes, but I’m going to share again as a little recap 😉 I like to add height to the middle for the focal point and work down from there. I put a simple mini evergreen tree I bought a few years ago from Hobby Lobby into my favored antique champagne bucket! angled my pretty reindeer facing the same directions on each side. As you know, I always love incorporating old books into my designs, so of course I did that here too! Turn them page side out, so you can see all those beautifully aged pages! I love the aged tint they adorn.
Add a few pieces of mercury glass votives and candlesticks, and you’re ready to go! The last step for me, was swagging the garland through my design. It was the perfect finishing touch!
I hope you enjoy my simple, Winter wonderland tablescape! I had a great time sharing it with you <3 It was great having you here today! Please stop by back again soon!
